Andy Warhol covers Botticelli.
Joel-Peter Witkin does Velasquez.
And so does Francis Bacon.
Duchamp messes with Leonardo.
Peter Saul tweaks Duchamp.
As does David Gilhooly.

Sometimes it's more literal, as when engravers reproduce masterpieces, which was of course more common before photography.

And when art was supported almost exclusively by the church, making variations on stock themes like The Annunciation was de rigeur.
